RADNOR, Pa. (September 12) – The Cabrini Cavaliers jumped to a 1-0 lead just one minute into the contest before dropping a 3-2 decision to Eastern University this afternoon in both team’s conference opener. The Eagles improve to 4-1 overall while the Cavaliers continue looking for their first win at 0-4.

Less than ten minutes later, the Eagles knotted the score as Jamie Heck connected following a scramble in front of the goal.
In the second half, Eastern took a 2-1 lead when Lindsay Moyer fired from directly in front of the cage on a pass from Ellen Hivner.

Melissa Benedetti tied the game at two with a successful penalty stroke. The Eagles’ Olivia Derr set the final margin, scoring off the penalty corner.

Elissa Salantri stopped six shots for the Cavaliers and played all 70 minutes. For the Eagles, Kelly Garland made two saves.
The Eagles took 11 penalty corners to the Cavaliers’ six.
Cabrini is back in action on Saturday, September 15 when it faces Alvernia College at 1 p.m.
