Women's Soccer Shuts Out Cedar Crest 5-0

RADNOR, Pa. (September 27) – Junior Chrissy Regan scored two goals as the Cabrini College women’s soccer team defeated Cedar Crest 5-0 this evening.  The Cavaliers improve to 5-4-1, 3-1 in the PAC while the Falcons drop to 2-8, 0-5 in the league.
 
Less than ten minutes into the contest, junior Nikki Duggan headed the ball into the goal off the corner kick from junior Jen Burke.
 
At the 14:05 mark, sophomore Sabina DeGisi collected a pass from Burke and fired past the Cedar Crest goalkeeper.   Two minutes later, junior Chrissy Regan found the top of the left hand corner of the goal for the Cavaliers’ third score of the game.  Duggan assisted on the play.
 
In the second half, sophomore Lauren Colosi gave Cabrini a four goal lead with her unassisted goal at the 59:27 point.  Less than two minutes later, Duggan found Regan and her 15-yard shot set the final margin.
 
Duggan led the Cavaliers with one goal and two assists. 
 
Cabrini recorded 20 shots to the Falcons’ two and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. 
 
Freshman Gianna Poretta posted her first shutout of the season with one save in 90 minutes of play. 
 
The Cavaliers host Arcadia University on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m.
