RADNOR, Pa. (September 29) – Arcadia University used two goals in the second half to defeat the Cabrini College women’s soccer team 3-2 this afternoon. The Knights improve to 8-2-1 while the Cavaliers drop to 5-5-1.
Less than two minutes into the contest, DeGisi headed the ball past the Arcadia goalkeeper off a corner kick from Regan to give Cabrini a 1-0 lead. Five minutes before the half, Arcadia knotted the score when Kat Kraemer fired the ball from the left side of the field into the top right corner of the net.
DeGisi scored her second goal of the afternoon with an unassisted tally at the 51:29 mark. Ten minutes later, Arcadia’s Samantha Calhoun scored on a breakaway, beating her defender and tying the game at two.
At the 69:39 mark, on a controversial play, Jamie Bradford collected the rebound off a save from a Knight penalty shot and knocked the ball past the Cabrini goalkeeper.
Freshman Chyenne White recorded 12 saves in the net for Cabrini and Michelle Leone made one save for Arcadia.
Arcadia held an 18-8 edge in shots and recorded eight corner kicks to the Cavaliers’ six.
Cabrini hosts Neumann College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
