RADNOR, Pa. (September 5) – Senior Barry Magagna scored the game-winning goal at the 97:44 mark to lead the Cabrini College men’s soccer team to a 1-0 shutout victory over DeSales University this evening in overtime.  The Cavaliers remain undefeated, and have yet to give up a goal in almost 300 minutes of play, at 3-0 while DeSales continues to search for its first victory of the season with a 0-3 mark.

After two scoreless periods of play, sophomore Jason Moran dribbled down field with a through ball to the corner and after beating one defender, crossed the ball to Magagna who headed it home from 12-yards out.

“Our guys showed a lot of heart in overtime while playing with one man down due to two yellow cards,” head coach Glen Jaskelewicz stated.  “All of our starters especially played extremely well and it would hard to single one individual player out.”

The Cavaliers posted 11 shots to the Bulldogs’ four.

Sophomore Bryan Johnson recorded one save for the Cavaliers while playing the entire contest.  Rusty Riedmiller stopped seven shots for DeSales.

Cabrini competes in the Jimmy Mills Tournament this weekend, facing Dickinson College on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Haverford on Sunday at 1 p.m.
