RADNOR, Pa. (September 7) – Junior
Lindsay Martin registered a team-best nine kills as the Cabrini College volleyball team blanked Wesley College 3-0 (30-25, 30-22, 30-23) tonight. The Cavaliers win their second straight and improve to 2-1 while Wesley remains winless at 0-4.
The Cavaliers fell behind 7-1 in the first game after three errors, two attack and one ball handling, but evened the score at 10 off a Wolverine attack error. Following two more tie scores, Cabrini gained the advantage (15-14) with a Recklau kill. The Cavaliers built a seven point lead (27-20) but Wesley closed the gap to just four before Recklau gave Cabrini the win with another kill.
In the second game, Cabrini jumped in front while Williams served five straight points before the Wolverines knotted the game at 15. The Cavaliers would not relinquish their lead though and claimed the eight-point win.
In the third game, Cabrini took an 11-point lead (20-9) but Wesley responded, cutting its deficit to six at 29-23, before junior
Kaitlyn Fetterman’s kill gave the Cavaliers the win.
The Cavaliers host DeSales on Saturday at 1 p.m.
