RADNOR, PA (January 21) – Junior
Kayleen Smith’s double-double led the Cavaliers tonight as the Cabrini College women’s basketball team won over visiting Rosemont College, 58-45. With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 9-4, 4-0 PAC while the Ramblers fall to 5-9, 2-5 PAC.
Smith led the Cavaliers in both scoring and rebounds with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore

Kate Walck, followed with 10 points, three rebounds and nine points and six rebounds, respectively.
The Cavaliers went on a four-minute scoring streak in the first half, with Smith and Walck scoring early for Cabrini. The Ramblers scored their first basket 16 minutes into the first half with a three-pointer by Alesha Butler. Following a five minute dry spell for both team’s Rosemont’s Janise Henderson scored with a jumper with 11:23 left in the first. A last-second three-pointer by
Kasey Agostinacchio put Cabrini in front by 16 points with a 31-15 half-time score.
The Ramblers did manage to out-score the Cavaliers in the second half (30-27), with Adriann Demchenko leading and recording a double-double over her own tonight with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Rosemont went 12-of-28 from the field in the second while Cabrini hit just seven field goals.
In the paint, Rosemont out-scored Cabrini 14 to six in the second half. However, the Cavaliers maintained their lead over the Ramblers with back-to-back three’s by sophomore
Katie Finfrock and repeated lay-ups from Smith.
Cabrini held a 42-35 advantage on the boards, scoring 17 second chance points.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Wednesday, January 23 as they travel to New York City to face PAC-newcomer College of Notre Dame at the historical Madison Square Garden. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
