RADNOR, Pa. (January 7) - Junior Kate Fetterman scored 17 points, her first double-digit performance of the season, tonight as the Cabrini College women's basketball team held off Swarthmore 77-61. The Cavaliers improve to 6-4 while the Garnet drop to 4-5.
In addition to Fetterman, junior Rachel Caron and sophomore Kate Walck each ended with ten points
Cabrini jumped in front early and held a 21 point (43-22) lead, with six three-point field goals, at the break aftter holding the Garnet to 26.7% (8-30) performance from the field. Cabrini held its largest lead, 26 points, with a little over 2:30 left in the first period.
In the second half, Swarthmore fought back, outscoring Cabrini 39-34 with 15 field goals and got within 14 points of the Cavaliers with a little over 13 minutes remaining in the game.
The Garnet dominated on the boards, holding a 47-33 advantage and grabbing 19 offensive rebounds to Cabrini's nine.
Cabrini dished out 17 assists and recorded 11 steals off the Garnet's 20 turnovers.
Kathryn Stockbower finished with a double-double for Swarthmore with 24 points and 16 rebounds, including 10 offensive.
The Cavaliers host Division II Lincoln on Saturday, January 12 at 1 p.m.
