MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Cabrini women's swimming team continued its 2008-09 season Saturday in a tri-meet at Millersville University. The Cavaliers topped Juniata College, 59-36, and suffered a 71-24 setback against the host Marauders.
Cabrini captured two gold medals behind the Cabrini 'A' efforts in the 200yd medley relay and sophomore Kate Manning in the 100yd back.
Manning, junior Andrea Carabello, sophomore Emily Yurick and freshman Lauren Sliva finished first in the 200yd medley relay, posting a time of 1:59.66.
Manning claimed gold in the 100yd backstroke, recording a tally of 1:06.21.
Yurick finished second in the 200yd individual medley with a time of 2:30.60. Rookie MacKenzie Stewart placed second in the 100yd breaststroke, tallying a time of 1:13.51.
Carabello notched a pair of third-place finishes in the 50yd freestyle (26.54) and 100yd freestyle (59.20). Junior Shawnee Gehman placed fourth in the 50yd freestyle with a time of 28.10.
Sliva (2:11.42) and Manning (2:14.42) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 200yd freestyle.
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams will host their first home meet of the season Saturday, November 8 against King's College and the College of Notre Dame at the Dixon Center.
