Women's Swimming Coasts to 131-57 Win at Bryn Mawr College

The Cabrini women's swimming team won eight of 11 events Wednesday at Bryn Mawr College.

BRYN MAWR, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's swimming team traveled to Bryn Mawr College Wednesday, topping the Owls, 131-57, in dual-meet action. The Cavaliers captured gold in eight of the meet's 11 events.

Sophomore Kate Manning led the Blue & Gray charge, winning gold in three races. Manning finished first in the 100yd backstoke, posting a time of 1:04.78. She was also part of the gold-medal winning 200yd medley (1:59.55) and 200yd freestyle (1:53.25) relay teams.

Junior Andrea Carabello,  freshman Lauren Sliva and freshman MacKenzie Stewart each finished first in two races. Carabello posted the top time in the 100yd freestyle (57.79) and 200yd freestyle (2:08.76). Sliva joined Manning on the 200yd medley and 200yd freestyle relay teams.

Stewart also swam with Manning and Sliva on the 200yd medley squad. Individually, she finished first in the 100yd breaststroke with a time of 1:12.69.

Sophomore Emily Yurick won gold in the 50yd freestyle, touching the wall in 27.60 seconds. Junior Anne Konicki finished first in the 500yd freestyle with a  time of 6:07.95.

Overall, seven Cavaliers grabbed gold against Bryn Mawr. Freshman Gretchen Mengeringhausen was part of the first-place 200yd freestyle relay team.

The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams return to the Dixon Center Pool, welcoming Arcadia University Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m.
