RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams continued their seasons Saturday at the Dixon Center Pool, entertaining Arcadia University. The Cavaliers emerged victorious on both sides. The Cabrini men totaled a 99-70 victory and the Blue & Gray win recorded a 122-70 triumph.
The Cavalier men raced to eight first-place finishes, led by three each from sophomore Matt McGuriman and sophomore Kyle Teliszewski. McGuriman posted first-place performances in the 50yd freestyle (23.36) and 100yd freestyle (52.21). He was also part of the first-place winning 200yd medley relay team (1:48.63).
Teliszewski joined McGuriman on the 200yd medley relay squad. He also finished first in the 200yd freestyle (1:55.13) and 100yd butterfly (58.90).
Sophomore Bill Boylan notched two top time finishes, touching the wall first in the 200yd individual medley (2:11.54) and 100yd breaststroke (1:07.08).
Freshman Sean Corrigan finished first in the 500yd freestyle with a time of 6:05.02. Rookies Neil Gogno and Philip Loeffler were also part of the 200yd medley relay team.
On the women's side, the Cavaliers swept all 11 events. Junior Andrea Carabello, sophomore Kate Manning, freshman Lauren Sliva and freshman MacKenzie Stewart each tallied three first-place finishes.
Carabello finished first in the 50yd freestyle (26.00), 100yd butterfly (1:07.21) and was part of the 400yd freestyle relay team (4:16.06). Manning posted first-place performances in the 100yd backstroke (1:07.03), 200yd medley relay (2:03.62) and 400yd freestyle relay.
Sliva was victorious in the 200yd freestyle (2:15.78), 100yd freestyle (59.78) and 200yd medley relay. Stewart finished with the top time in the 200yd individual medley (2:31.94), 100yd breaststroke (1:11.79) and 200yd medley relay.
The Cavaliers also got first-place performances from junior Anne Konicki, junior Shawnee Gehman, sophomore Katie Mageeney and sophomore Lisa Somers. Konicki finished first in the 1000yd freestyle (12:43.82) and 500yd freestyle (6:09.13).
Gehman was part of the 200yd medley relay team. Mageeney and Somers each teamed in the 400yd freestyle relay team.
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams return to the water Sunday, January 18 against Ocean County Community College at home. Meet time is set for 11 a.m.
