Cabrini Softball Splits with Immaculata

RADNOR, Pa. (March 28) - Sophomore Liz Zimmer hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Cabrini College softball team to a 9-8 win in the first game today's double-header with Immaculata University.  In the second contest, the Cavaliers fell 9-1.  Cabrini's record now stands at 7-9, 4-2 in the league while the Mighty Macs earn their first win of the season and improve to 1-7, 1-5 in the conference.

In the first game, junior Kelsie LaBauve recorded a 3-4 performance at the plate, scoring three runs and recording two RBI.  Junior Kristie Sandefur knocked one ball out of the park and recorded five RBI.

Sophomore Cheri Johns earned the win on the mound for the Cavaliers, pitching 2.2 innings and giving up no runs while striking out one batter.

With one out and the game tied at eight all in the bottom of the seventh frame, Zimmer pinch-hit to record the game-winning run.

In the second contest, freshman Cheyenne White scored the Cavaliers' only run of the game.

Zimmer took the loss, allowing 17 hits in 6.0 innings.

The Cavaliers face Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m.
