CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team improved its record to 2-0 against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponents with a 2-0 victory at Keystone College Thursday.
Senior Dina DiTaranto charged the Cavaliers' singles play with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 1 position. Classmate Christine Telling earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the two spot.
Junior Nicole Pontious and sophomore Stephanie Tighe claimed convincing 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0 triumphs at the No. 3 and 4 positions, respectively.
Freshmen Alexis DiCamillo and Michelle Lettman, the CSAC Co-Player of the Week, tallied 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 victories at five and six, respectively.
The Cavaliers opened the match with a 3-0 edge after a sweep in doubles play. DiTaranto and Telling paced the Cabrini effort with an 8-0 win in the leadoff position.
Pontious and Tighe claimed an 8-2 win in No. 2 and DiCamillo and Lettman recorded an 8-1 triumph in the three hole.
The win marked the 46th straight for fifth-year head coach John Magee against a conference opponent.
Cabrini (5-1) returns home Saturday, September 13 against CSAC foe Marywood University at 1 p.m.
