BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team captured its fourth consecutive victory, besting non-conference foe and local opponent Bryn Mawr College Wednesday night, 8-1. Senior Dina DiTaranto, the reigning Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Week, totaled a 6-1, 6-2 singles win in the No. 1 position.
The Cavaliers opened the contest with a sweep in doubles play. DiTaranto and partner Christine Telling logged an 8-5 win in the leadoff spot. Junior Nicole Pontious and sophomore Stephanie Tighe claimed an 8-4 win in the No. 2 position.
The rookie duo of Alexis DiCamillo and Michelle Lettman tallied an 8-2 victory at No. 3. The Cavaliers are a staggering 20-4 as a team in doubles play this season.
DiTaranto's emphatic win at No. 1 in singles play, her fifth straight, set the tone for the rest of the lineup. Telling collected a convincing 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 2.
Tighe is riding a five-match win streak after posting a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the four spot. Lettman remains unbeaten in singles play, improving to 8-0, following a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the six position.
DiCamillo earned a 6-3, 6-7 (2), 10-2 win at the No. 5 hole.
Cabrini (7-1, 3-0) resumes CSAC competition Saturday, September 20 on the road at Cedar Crest College, beginning at 1 p.m.
