Volleyball Splits Day One in Big Apple

The Cabrini volleyball team captured its fifth win of the season Saturday, sweeping Baruch College, 3-0

NEW YORK, N.Y. –
The Cabrini volleyball team collected a 3-0 win Saturday against Baruch College at the Baruch Invitational. Freshman Alexis Doss led the Cavaliers with 14 kills on just 26 attempts in the win.

Junior setter Lizzie Williams guided the Cabrini offense to a .407 attack percentage with a team-high 29 assists. She also added two kills and two digs to the Cavaliers' cause.

Junior Traci Beltz tallied seven kills on 11 attempts, while senior Kaitlyn Fetterman buried six on eight tries.

Defensively, seniors Danielle Finnegan and Michelle Mola led the Cabrini backline with eight digs apiece. Fetterman posted two solo blocks.

Senior Lindsay Martin aided the Cavaliers with a club-high four service aces. Freshman Beth Gillespie added two.

The Cavaliers cruised to their fifth win of the season with wins of 25-9, 25-14 and 25-15.

In the day's first match, Cabrini suffered a 3-0 loss against Colby-Sawyer College. Williams powered the Cavaliers with 21 assists.

Cabrini (5-7) returns to action Sunday at the Baruch College Invitational, meeting Washington College (Md.) at 10 a.m. The Cavaliers play Stevenson University at noon.
