Cavaliers Remain Unbeaten, Best Wesley College, 3-1

The Cabrini men's soccer team improved to 4-0-0 in 2008 with a 3-1 win against Wesley College Sunday afternoon.

HAVERFORD, Pa. –
The Cabrini men's soccer team remains unbeaten following a 3-1 win versus Wesley College Sunday afternoon at Haverford College. Junior forward Justin McCall sparked the Cavaliers' offense with two goals in the victory.

After 29 minutes of scoreless play, McCall supplied Cabrini with a 1-0 lead at the 29:29 mark, depositing his team-leading sixth goal of the season. Senior Mike McDevitt and junior Brian Moran were credited with an assist on the play, setting up the score with successive headers off a cross from the corner.

McCall's seventh goal of the season, and fifth of the week, handed the Cavaliers a two-goal advantage at the 61:40 mark. Freshman Tyler Harvey earned an assist on the insurance marker.

McDevitt's third goal score of the year provided Cabrini with a 3-0 lead with less than 15 minutes remaining in regulation. Sophomore Troy Allen claimed his second helper of the season.

Wesley broke a 77-plus minute scoring stalemate and spoiled the Cavaliers' shutout bid with a goal at the 77:28 mark from Saidu Fofanah, set up by Dom Citino.

Cabrini sophomore goalkeeper Bryan Johnson earned the win with three saves. Wesley netminder Nick Talarico posted five stops in the loss.

The Cavaliers owned a commanding 14-6 advantage in shots, but loss the penalty corners battle, 5-2.

Cabrini (4-0-0) plays its third game in as many outings on the road Saturday, September 13 at backyard-rival Eastern University, beginning at 1 p.m.
