Men, Women's Swimming Swept at Swarthmore College

The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams wrap up the 2008-09 regular season Sunday.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams began their final weekend of the 2008-09 season Saturday, traveling to nearby Swarthmore College. The Cavalier men dropped a 106-68 decision and the women were dealt a 157-93 setback.

Sophomore Kate Manning led the Blue & Gray women's charge, posting three first-place finishes. She placed first in the 100yd backstroke (1:02.81) and was part of the first-place finishing 200yd medley relay (1:57.53) and 200yd freestyle relay (1:47.48) teams.

Junior Andrea Carabello, freshman Lauren Sliva and freshman MacKenzie Stewart each collected two first-place finishes. Carabello placed first in the 50yd freestyle (25.79) and 200yd medley relay team.

Sliva helped both relay squads to top finishes. In addition to swimming as part of the 200yd medley relay team, Stewart placed first in the 100yd breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:11.84.

Sophomore Emily Yurick placed first in the 200yd individual medley with a time of 2:25.25.

On the men's side, sophomore Billy Boylan, sophomore Kyle Teliszewski, freshman Neil Gogno and freshman Philip Loeffler swam to a first-place finish in the 200yd freestyle relay.

Boylan finished first in the 100yd freestyle with a time of 49.76. Teliszewski placed first in the 500yd freestyle, posting a time of 5:14.31. Loeffler clocked the top time in the 100yd butterfly, finishing in 59.74.

The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams finish the regular season Sunday, January 25 at the Dixon Center Pool in the program's Last Chance Meet.
