Women's Swimming Splits Season-Opening Tri-Meet

Senior Andrea Carabello finished first in the 50yd freestyle and second in the 100yd freestyle Saturday.

RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's swimming team opened the 2009-10 season at the Dixon Center Pool Saturday, hosting Juniata College and Mansfield University. Senior Andrea Carabello led the Cavaliers' efforts, winning the 50yd freestyle and finishing second in the 100yd freestyle.

Cabrini topped Juniata College, 112-64, but suffered a 115-77 setback against Mansfield.

Carabello clocked a time of 27.06 seconds in the 50yd freestyle and totaled a time of 1:01.39 in the 100yd freestyle.

Junior MacKenzie Stewart posted Cabrini's second first-place finish, touching the wall in 1:14.69 in the 100yd breaststroke.

Junior Emily Yurick listed second in the 200 individual medley, clocking a time of 2:30.27.

In relay action, the Cabrini 'A' team finished second in the 200yd medley relay (2:07.23) and 200yd freestyle (1:54.49).

Mansfield also downed Juniata, 120-42.

The Cabrini men's swimming team make its 2009-10 debut with the women's squad Saturday, October 24 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in a tri-meet with the University of Scranton. Meet time is set for 1 p.m.
