READING, Pa. – The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams returned to the pool and wrapped up their schedule for the 2009 calendar year in dual-meet action at Albright College Saturday. The Lions earned a 133-77 win against the Cavalier men and a 135-110 victory versus the women's squad.
Junior Kyle Teliszewski led the Blue & White men's efforts, finishing first in the 50yd butterfly (27.42) and 100yd freestyle (51.56). In five meets this season, Teliszewski has earned seven first-place finishes overall. He placed second in the 100yd butterfly (59.20).
Sophomore Sean Corrigan posted the top time in the 200yd IM (2:26.73). Junior Bill Boylan recorded a pair of second-place performances in the 100yd breaststroke (1:08.13) and 200yd freestyle (1:54.85).
The Cabrini 'A' 200yd freestyle relay team, including Boylan, Teliszewski, sophomore Neil Gogno and sophomore Walter Jesuncosky, finished first, touching the wall in 1:36.01.
On the women's side, junior Kate Manning swam to a first-place performance in the 50yd butterfly (35.80) and second-place finish in the 100yd backstroke (1:13.60). Junior Emily Yurick placed first in the 200yd IM (2:30.06).
Senior Andrea Carabello placed second in the 100yd freestyle (58.94) and 100yd butterfly (1:08.94). Carabello and Yurick teamed with senior Shawnee Gehman and sophomore Lauren Sliva for a first-place finish in the 200yd freestyle relay (1:49.68).
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams return to the water for a dual-meet date with Ocean County College Sunday, Jan. 10 at the Dixon Center Pool. Meet time is set for 10:30 a.m.
