BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams returned to the pool Wednesday night at Bryn Mawr College, ending a nearly month-long hiatus from competition. The Cavalier men posted seven first-place finishes in an 81-70 dual-meet win versus Arcadia University.
Juniors Bill Boylan and Kyle Teliszewski led the charge for the Cabrini men's squad, each earning two individual first-place finishes and playing a role in a relay victory.
Boylan placed first in the 100yd breaststroke (1:05.90) and 200yd individual medley (2:14.38), his second top-time performances in each event this season. Teliszewski claimed his second first-place finishes of the season in the 100yd freestyle (50.82) and 200yd freestyle (1:53.89).
Boylan and Teliszewski teamed with sophomores Sean Corrigan and Neil Gogno for a first-place finish in the 200yd freestyle relay (1:37.39).
Gogno posted the top time in the 50yd freestyle, clocking a tally of 26.84 seconds. Corrigan finished first in the 500yd freestyle with a time of 5:49.71.
Sophomore MacKenzie Stewart led the Cavalier women versus the host Owls and Arcadia in tri-meet action. Stewart earned her fourth first-place finish of the season in the 100yd breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:14.87.
The Cabrini women also finished first in the 200yd freestyle relay. Senior Andrea Carabello, senior Shawnee Gehman, junior Lisa Somers and junior Emily Yurick recorded a time of 1:51.54.
Carabello twice placed second in the 100yd freestyle (59.07) and 200yd freestyle (2:12.03). The women suffered a 111-76 loss versus Bryn Mawr and 108-78 setback against Arcadia.
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams return to the pool this weekend in split-squad action at the Grove City College Invitational and local Swarthmore College Invitational Friday and Saturday.
