Women's Lacrosse Registers 20-3 Win Against CSAC Foe Cedar Crest College

The Cabrini women's lacrosse team remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play following a commanding 20-3 victory against Cedar Crest College Saturday at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The Cavaliers offense boasted 11 different goal scorers in the win.

Junior attack Danielle Rothermel totaled a team-high four points on four goals against the Falcons. Junior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz tallied four points on three goals and one assist.

Freshman attack Jacqueline McDermott registered four points on two goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Lauren Iannece notched four points on one score and three helpers.

Junior attack Erin Nollen and sophomore attack Jaime O'Hanlon each posted three points. Nollen buried three goals and O'Hanlon paired one goal with two assists.

Junior midfielder Kellie Levy added two points on two goals.

Junior defender Monica Souders led Cabrini with a team-best five groundballs. Senior defender Christina Romano and sophomore midfielder Andrea Bialon each recorded four groundballs.

Junior goalkeeper Kate Schmid logged just under 43 minutes in between the Cavaliers' pipes, tallying three saves. Sophomore goalkeeper Gianna Porretta closed out the second half, making three stops.

Cabrini held a comfortable 16-1 advantage at the intermission behind three goals from Alexandrowicz and Nollen. The Cavaliers raced to a 7-0 lead and kept Cedar Crest off the scoreboard for more than 25 minutes to close the half.

Rothermel and McDermott each scored two goals in the final 24:34 of the first half.

The Falcons scored twice to start the second period, pulling to within 13 at 16-3 with 25:14 remaining. However, Cabrini closed the game on a 4-0 run sparked by two goals from Rothermel. Iannece capped her four-point performance with a goal with 7:16 remaining.

The Cedar Crest offense featured three different goal scorers. Tara Fikes, Mackenzie Lee and Kelly Oakes each found the back of the net for the Falcons.

CC goalkeeper Devin Ursini tallied 12 saves in the loss.

Cabrini (2-2, 2-0) resumes its non-conference schedule Tuesday, March 24 against the University of Scranton at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
