Women's Lacrosse Remains Undefeated in CSAC with Convincing 19-8 Win Against Marywood

The Cabrini women's lacrosse team stretched its winning streak to four games and continued its undefeated Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record by defeating Marywood University, 19-8, Wednesday at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz registered a team-high five points on four goals and one assist in the win.

Sophomore attack Jaime O'Hanlon posted four points on three goals and one assist, while junior attack Danielle Rothermel and sophomore attack Kristen Vernon both tallied three points, each three goals.

Junior midfielder Kellie Levy and freshman attack Jacqueline McDermott tallied two goals each and senior defender Christina Romano, along with junior attack Erin Nollen both netted one.

Marywood jumped ahead 1-0 in just the second minute of play but the lead wouldn't last long. Cabrini answered less than one minute later when junior attack Lynda Kaufmann found Vernon for her first goal of the game. McDermott scored her first goal less than a minute later to put Cabrini ahead, followed by another from Vernon, two from Levy and three from Alexandrowicz.

O'Hanlon responded to a Pacer goal in the 22nd minute followed by Romano netting hers just ten seconds later. Vernon rounded out the Cavaliers' scoring for the first half, finishing her third marker with 2:30 remaining. Cabrini led 11-3 at the break.

The Cavaliers jumped to a 16-4 lead just ten minutes into the second half with a score from O'Hanlon, Alexandrowicz, Nollen, and two from Rothermel. McDermott then tallied her second goal of the game in the 44th minute.

Rothermel gave Cabrini its largest lead of the contest at 18-4 when she completed her hat trick in the 47th minute. O'Hanlon recorded her third and the Cavalier's final goal of the game with 3:30 minutes left to play.

Junior goalkeeper Kate Schmid totaled 47 minutes in net, allowing just four scores and saving three shots.

Senior defender Chrissy Regan registered a team and game-high four ground balls. Kauffman tallied a team-high four draw controls.

Freshman attack Taylor McKeown led Marywood with three points on three goals. With the loss, the Pacers drop to an overall record of 2-5 and 0-1 in the CSAC.

The Cavaliers currently hold a 4-2 overall record and a conference mark of 3-0. The Blue & White have won three CSAC matchups in three tries, out-scoring its opponents 58-17.

Cabrini resumes play Tuesday, March 31 on the road, traveling to take on CSAC opponent Neumann College. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
