EWING, N.J. - The Cabrini women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss in the last six games Thursday, dropping a 15-2 decision at No. 2 The College of New Jersey. The Lions marked the Cavaliers' second nationally-ranked opponent of the 2009 season.
Freshman attack
Jacqueline McDermott tallied her 10th goal of the season in the loss. Through eight games, McDermott lists fourth on Cabrini's high-powered offense in goals scored.
Senior midfielder
Anna Scholl deposited her fifth marker of the year versus the Lions.
Sophomore defender
Courtney Davis led the Cavaliers' in groundballs, scooping a team-best six. Junior attack

Junior goalkeeper
Kate Schmid made her ninth start of the season, playing all 60 minutes against TCNJ. Schmid posted 11 saves total, including eight stops in the first half.
The Lions sprinted to a 9-0 lead at the intermission, sparked by three first-half goals from Lisa Seldeen. TCNJ pushed its advantage to 13-0 following three early second-half scores from Alison Jaeger.
Scholl put the Blue & White on the scoreboard at the 12:49 mark of the second frame on an unassisted goal. TCNJ owned a 15-1 cushion after a score from Tara Klein with 6:36 remaining.
McDermott closed out the game's scoring with an unassisted goal at the 3:12 mark.
Jaeger led the Lions with seven points on six goals and one assist. Seldeen added six points on four scores and two helpers.
Cabrini (5-3, 4-0) returns home Saturday, April 4 against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Centenary College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
