COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's lacrosse team used a stifling second half defense en route to a 9-7 non-conference win at Ursinus College Wednesday. Tied at halftime, the Cavaliers allowed just two goals in the final 30 minutes to earn their sixth win in the last seven games.

Junior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz paced the Cabrini offense, recorded four points on four goals. Junior attack Erin Nollen totaled three points, pairing two scores with one assist.

Junior attack Kellie Levy also added three points on two goals and one assist. Sophomore attack Jaime O'Hanlon deposited one goal.

Junior goalkeeper Kate Schmid tallied 12 saves and a team-best eight groundballs in the win. Schmid posted eight stops in the second half.

Alexandrowicz scooped five groundballs and sophomore defender Courtney Davis corralled a club-best three draw controls. Senior defender Christina Romano collected four groundballs and forced four Ursinus turnovers.

Alexandrowicz broke a 2-2 deadlock with consecutive goals mid-way through the first half. However, the Bears closed the opening period on a 3-1 run, tying the contest at 5-5 heading into the intermission.

The Cavaliers struck twice in the first three minutes of the second stanza. Alexandrowicz's unassisted marker at the 28:20 mark supplied the Blue & White with a lead it would never relinquish.

O'Hanlon's goal just 40 seconds following handed Cabrini a two-goal advantage.

Ursinus trimmed its deficit to one score, 7-6, at the 19:55 mark, but the Cavaliers closed the last 13 minutes with two of the game's final three goals.

Elizabeth Cannon (1G, 2A) and Alyssa Thren (3G) led Ursinus with three points each. Goalkeeper Alex McBride totaled 11 saves in a losing effort.

Cabrini (7-3, 5-0) resumes its CSAC schedule Wednesday, April 15 at home against Immaculata University. The opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
