Men, Women's Swimming Host Ocean County College

Senior Anne Konicki posted first-place finishes in the 200yd freestyle and 500yd freestyle Sunday.

RADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams returned to the pool for the first time since Dec. 17 against Ocean County College in the Dixon Center Pool. The Cavaliers combined to record 13 first-place finishes.

Behind eight first-place performances, the Cabrini women notched a 109-86 win against OCC. Seniors Andrea Carabello and Anne Konicki, swimming in their last home meet of the season, each posted two first-place times.

Carabello swam to the top time in the 50yd freestyle (26.32) and 100yd freestyle (58.33). Konicki finished first in the 200yd freestyle (2:18.37) and 500yd freestyle (6:03.26).

Junior Emily Yurick also recorded two first-place performances in the 200yd IM (2:37.58) and 200yd butterfly (2:32.83). Junior Kate Manning clocked the top time in the 200yd backstroke (2:37.73).

The Cavalier women swam to a first-place finish in the 200yd medley relay with a time of 2:07.58.

Senior Shawnee Gehman also swam in her final meet at the Dixon Center Pool, finishing second in the 1000yd freestyle (13:36.41). Gehman joined Manning and sophomores Lauren Sliva and MacKenzie Stewart on the first-place medley relay squad.

Juniors Bill Boylan and Kyle Teliszewski charged the Cabrini men's efforts, each finishing first in two events. Boylan posted a first-place time in the 50yd freestyle (22.96) and 200yd breaststroke (2:27.02). Teliszewski touched the wall first in the 100yd freestyle (51.61) and 200yd freestyle (1:55.18).

The Cavalier men's 200yd freestyle relay team, consisting of Boylan, Teliszewski, junior Josh Pace and sophomore Walter Jesuncosky, finished first with a time of 1:39.42. Ocean County totaled a 93-56 win on the men's side.

The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams are back in the water Saturday, Jan. 16 at Widener University. Meet time is set for 1 p.m.
