SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams returned to the water Saturday, competing at Centennial Conference opponent Swarthmore College in dual-meet action. The Garnet earned a 74-55 win on the men's side and downed the Cavalier women, 148-88.
Junior Bill Boylan finished first in the 100yd freestyle with a time of 49.85 seconds. Junior Kyle Teliszewski posted the top official time in the 50yd freestyle (23.00) and listed second in the 200yd freestyle (1:52.42).
The Cabrini men's 200yd freestyle relay 'A' team, including Boylan, sophomore Walter Jesuncosky, sophomore Sean Corrigan and sophomore Neil Gogno, clocked the top official time, touching the wall in 1:36.76.
On the women's side, senior Andrea Carabello placed second in the 50yd freestyle (26.35) and third in the 100yd freestyle (58.59). Sophomore MacKenzie Stewart finished third in the 100yd breaststroke (1:14.63).
Senior Anne Konicki clocked the top official time in the 500yd freestyle (5:59.19). Junior Emily Yurick (2:32.38) and sophomore Lauren Sliva (1:08.18) posted the top official times in the 200yd IM and 100yd butterfly.
Carabello, Sliva, Yurick and senior Shawnee Gehman clocked the top official time in the 200yd freestyle relay with a time of 1:48.40.
The Cavaliers are one day removed from the announcement that Cabrini will become an affiliate member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in men and women's swimming, beginning in 2010-11.
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams are not in competition again until Saturday, Feb. 20 at St. Mary's (Md.) College for the Seahawk Invitational.
