BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Behind eight first-place finishes, the Cabrini men's swimming team continued its 2010-11 success on Wednesday night, topping Arcadia University, 110-75, in dual-meet action at Bryn Mawr College. Seniors Bill Boylan, Matthew McGuriman and Kyle Teliszewski led the charge for the Cavaliers against the Lions.
Boylan recorded two first-place performances, posting a season-best time in the 100yd freestyle (50.65) and the top time in his season debut in the 200yd individual medley (2:12.24).
McGuriman swam to a first-place finish in his first 50yd freestyle (23.46) race of the season and also placed first in the 100yd backstroke (1:01.77) with a season-best time.
Teliszewski notched a season-best time en route to a first-place performance in the 100yd butterfly (59.32). He also finished with the top time in the 500yd freestyle (5:32.02).
Junior Neil Gogno placed first in the 100yd breaststroke, clocking a 2010-11 best time of 1:06.66. Gogno teamed with McGuriman, Teliszewski and freshman James Gallagher for a first-place effort in the 200yd freestyle relay (1:36.10).
Senior Emily Yurick and junior Lauren Sliva guided the Cabrini women's team efforts, each posting first-place performances. Yurick touched the wall first in the 100yd breaststroke (1:17.21), while Sliva place first in the 100yd butterfly (1:09.35).
The host Owls topped the Cavalier women, 118-79. Arcadia edged the Blue & White, 99-98.
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams are back in action on Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Swarthmore College Invitational.
