RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team rallied from a six-goal first half deficit and took its lone lead of the game, 11-10, with 13:22 remaining. However, Ursinus College scored four of the game's final five goals en route to a 14-12 win Saturday afternoon at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz led the Cavaliers' offense with seven points on three goals and four assists. Alexandrowicz is now two points shy of reaching the 200-point plateau for her career at Cabrini.
Senior attack Erin Nollen totaled five points on five goals against the Bears. Junior attack Jamie O'Hanlon and junior attack Gabrielle Gorbey each posted two points on two scores.
Senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid recorded seven saves in her fifth start of the season. Schmid led Cabrini in the hustle category with four groundballs.
Senior midfielder Lynda Kaufmann tallied three draw controls and junior defender Courtney Davis scooped three draw controls.
Ursinus jumped out to an 8-2 advantage at the 7:18 mark of the first half. Junior attack Lindsay Urban led the Bears' early burst with two goals.
The Blue & White closed the opening 30 minutes with three unanswered goals and trailed 8-5 at the intermission. The Cavaliers quickly cut their deficit to just one goal, 8-7, less than eight minutes in the second half.
Cabrini completed its comeback with goals from Gorbey (18:48). and Nollen (18:29). O'Hanlon was credited the with the assist on the go-ahead tally deposited by Alexandrowicz.
The Bears responded down the stretch as Urban netted the eventual game-winning goal with 6:07 remaining in the contest.
Urban finished with three point on three goals. Sophomore midfielder Emily Diehl led the Bears with five points, pairing four goals with one assist.
Senior goalkeeper Aalex McBride notched 10 saves in the victory.
Cabrini (2-3) returns to the road Tuesday, March 23 at New Jersey Athletic Conference opponent Rowan University. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
