Women's Lacrosse Knocks Off Marywood University, 16-10

Senior attack Erin Nollen recorded nine points on eight goals and one assist against Marywood Saturday.

SCRANTON, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's lacrosse team remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play following a 16-10 win versus Marywood University Saturday afternoon. Senior Erin Nollen tallied a team-high nine points for the Cavaliers in the victory.

Nollen paired eight points with one assist versus the Pacers. She scored five of her eight goals in the second half, including a stretch of three unanswered during a four minute span down the stretch.

Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz and junior attack Jamie O'Hanlon each posted four points on two goals and two assists. Senior attack Danielle Rothermel recorded three points on three scores.

Junior attack Gabrielle Gorbey and junior midfielder Dolores Weathers each chipped in two points. Gorbey paired one goal with one assist, while Weathers handed out two helpers.

Behind a team-high six from Nollen, the Cavaliers won the draw controls battle, 15-13. Cabrini is 4-0 this season in games that they have collected more draw controls than their opponent.

Senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid made 10 saves en route to the victory. Schmid also scooped a team-best seven groundballs.

Senior midfielder Lynda Kauffman claimed five groundballs.

The Blue & White opened the game on a 7-0 run. Nollen and O'Hanlon each found the back of the cage during the spurt. Alexandrowicz distributed two assists.

Marywood responded with four of the game's next five goals, trimming its halftime deficit to four scores, 8-4. Nollen added her third goal of the half at the 4:05 mark.

The Pacers pulled within two goals, 8-6, with Allie Sodl's third score of the contest at the 27:02 mark of the second half. Marywood trailed 12-10 with 13:25 remaining.

However, the Cavaliers closed the game on a 4-0 run. Nollen deposited three straight tallies to spark the run. Rothermel capped the contest's scoring at the 3:24 mark.

Taylor McKeown (5G) and Sodl (4G, 1A) each totaled five points. Alexis Willey added two on two assists. Goalkeeper Katie Sullivan claimed 22 saves.

Cabrini (4-4, 3-0) resumes its CSAC schedule on the road Tuesday, March 30 against Cedar Crest College. Game time against the Falcons is set for 4 p.m.
