RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team continued its unbeaten play versus Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponents on Saturday, topping Neumann University, 19-7, at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz anchored the Cavaliers' offense with a team-best seven points.
Alexandrowicz scored five goals for the second straight contest and dished out two assists. She has scored at least three goals in a game seven times this season.
Senior attack Erin Nollen recorded five points with three goals and two assists. Nollen is one goal shy of scoring the 200th of her Cabrini career.
Junior attack Jamie O'Hanlon posted four points, pairing two goals with two assists. Freshman attack Christina Pasquariello added three points on three goals.
The Cavaliers' attack boasted 12 players with at least one point, including junior defender Courtney Davis. Davis' goal at the 29:22 mark of the first half was the game's first and her first of the 2010 season.
Davis scooped a team-best four groundballs and five draw controls. The Blue & White totaled 17 draw controls against 10 from Neumann. Senior midfielder Lynda Kaufmann also registered four groundballs.
Senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid was credited with the victory between the pipes, allowing four goals and notching nine saves. Junior goalkeeper Gianna Porretta played the closing 20:44 and tallied two stops.
Cabrini opened the contest with two goals in the opening minute from Davis and Pasquariello. After the Knights got on the scoreboard at the 21:59 mark, the Cavaliers ran off nine straight goals, securing a 11-1 cushion with 8:37 remaining in the half.
The Blue & White owned a comfortable 12-3 advantage at the intermission. The Cavaliers pushed their lead to 15 goals, 19-4, behind a 7-1 run to begin the second half. Alexandrowicz ignited the run with her fifth goal of the game just 20 seconds after the draw.
Junior attack Gabrielle Gorbey scored back-to-back goals mid-way through the half. Senior midfielder Kellie Levy found the back of the cage for the Cavaliers' final tally with 11:13 left.
Senior attack Colleen Finnegan led the Knights' offense with four points on four goals. Freshman defender Erica Crabtree added two points on two goals.
Through five CSAC contests in 2010, Cabrini has out-scored its opponents, 88-34. The Cavaliers have scored 19 goals in each of their last two games.
Cabrini (6-5, 5-0) returns to the road at CSAC foe Centenary College on Wednesday, April 14. Game time versus the Cyclones is set for 4 p.m.
