RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team concluded its 2010 regular season schedule on Sunday night, dropping a 13-5 decision versus Centennial Conference opponent Dickinson College. Senior midfielder Lynda Kaufmann totaled three points for the Cavaliers in the loss.
Kaufmann paired two goals with one assist. Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz recorded two points, also netting two goals.
Senior midfielder Kellie Levy notched one point with one goal. Junior attack Jamie O'Hanlon also tallied one point, handing out one assist.
Senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid went the distance for the Cavaliers in the cage, posting 16 saves. Schmid also scooped two groundballs.
Junior defender Courtney Davis collected a team-high five groundballs. Senior defender Monica Souders registered four groundballs.
Despite scoring the first goal of the game, Cabrini trailed at the intermission, 7-3. Alexandrowicz initiated the contest's offense with her first goal at the 29:21 mark of the opening half.
Dickinson grabbed control of the game with five unanswered goals. Alexandrowicz netted her second score of the contest with 13:52 left before halftime. Levy found the back the cage with just nine seconds on the clock.
The Red Devils began the second half with six straight goals, pushing their lead to a game-high 10 goals, 13-3. The Dickinson defense kept the Cavaliers off the scoreboard in the second period until Kaufmann beat junior goalkeeper Jessie Clark at the 12:11 mark.
Kaufmann scored the game's final tally with 5:47 left.
Junior midfielder Kelsey Muir led the Red Devils' attack with six points on three goals and three assists. Junior attack Sara Braniecki and senior attack Abby Larson each recorded four points, pairing three goals with one assist.
Clark posted 11 saves in more than 53 minutes played.
Cabrini (9-7, 8-0) clinched the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament with an 18-0 win on Saturday against Rosemont College. The victory completed the Cavaliers' ninth undefeated regular season in conference play since the 1998 campaign. Cabrini returns to action on Wednesday, May 5 in the semifinal round of the CSAC Tournament.
