SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Cabrini men and women's swimming programs returned to the water on Saturday afternoon, suffering 121-80 and 139-94 losses, respectively, at Swarthmore College. The Cavaliers combined to record 11 first-place finishes against the Garnet.
Senior Matthew McGuriman and senior Benjamin Nanna led the Cabrini men's efforts, each posting two first-place times. McGuriman clocked the top time in the 200yd breaststroke (2:21.67) and 400yd individual medley (5:03.72). Nanna placed first in the 200yd backstroke (2:56.50) and 500yd freestyle (7:27.75).
Also on the men's side, senior Bill Boylan, the reigning Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Swimmer of the Week, finished first in the 200yd freestyle (1:52.82).
McGuriman and Boylan swam with senior Kyle Teliszewski and junior Neil Gogno to a first-place time in the 200yd freestyle relay (1:34.57).
Senior Emily Yurick paced the Blue & White women's team's performance, placing first in the 200yd breaststroke (2:34.39). Junior Lauren Sliva listed first in the 200yd butterfly (2:44.56).
Sophomore Darvin McDonald tallied the top time in the 500yd freestyle (7:38.65), while freshman Kimberly Crowther ranked first in the 200yd breaststroke (3:10.84).
Yurick and Sliva teamed with freshmen Rachel Schmid and Breaghann Smith for a first-place time in the 200yd freestyle relay.
The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams are back in action in the Dixon Center Pool on Saturday, Jan. 29 against Widener University. Meet time versus the Pride is set for 1 p.m.
