Seniors Celebrate Swimming Careers Against Widener University

The Cabrini men and women's swimming programs celebrated their senior classes on Saturday against Widener University.

RADNOR, Pa. –
The senior members of the Cabrini men and women's swimming programs swam in their meet at the Dixon Center Pool on Saturday afternoon against Widener University. The Pride emerged with two victories on the day, topping the Cavalier men's squad, 130-53, and the Blue & White women's team, 126-62.

Seniors Matthew McGuriman and Kyle Teliszewski led the Cabrini men's team, each posting first-place times. McGuriman finished first in the 100yd breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:03.91. Teliszewski placed first in the 50yd freestyle with a time of 23.11 seconds.

McGuriman and Teliszewski were a part of the Cavaliers' first-place performing 400yd freestyle relay team with seniors Bill Boylan and Ben Nanna. The Blue & White placed first with a time of 3:28.58.

Teliszewski placed second in the 100yd freestyle (50.87), and Boylan notched a runner-up time in the200yd freestyle (1:53.67) and 500yd freestyle (5:19.84).

Senior Emily Yurick notched the Cabrini women's team's lone individual first-place effort, finishing with the top time in the 100yd breaststroke (1:14.91).

Yurick teamed with junior Lauren Sliva, and freshmen Rachel Schmid and Breaghann Smith for a first-place finish in the 200yd freestyle relay with a time of 1:50.20.

Schmid twice finished second in the 50yd freestyle (27.42) and 100yd butterfly (1:11.91).

The Cabrini men and women's swimming teams have one final tune-up before the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships (Feb. 17-19) at Rowan University on Saturday, Feb. 5. Meet time against the Profs is set for 2 p.m.
