COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. –
The Cabrini College men's and women's swimming teams came up short in today's dual meet at Ursinus College.  The men fell to 1-6 with their 105-49 loss.  The women's 117-73 defeat drops their record to 0-8.

Though the team results may not put marks in the win column, individual swimmers continue to post times that rank among the best in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

On the men's side, freshman Evan Strickland continues to pile up wins.  The rookie took the 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke.  Strickland's time of 2:05.31 in the 200-IM is the third best AMCC time of the season, while his 53.33 100-butterfly time ranks second in the conference.

Sophomore Tim McCann finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle and third in the 50-yard freestyle, while sophomore Brandon Mazepa placed third in the 200-yard freestyle.

Senior Lauren Sliva continues to provide an example for Cabrini's young swimmers with her performance.  The senior won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.84, the fourth fastest AMCC time of the year.  Sliva also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (57.99) with the second fastest time this year.

Freshman Melanie Felkner posted the conference's second fastest time of 1:07.61 in winning the 100-yard butterfly on Saturday.

Sophomore Breaghann Smith and freshman Rebecca Barrett recorded third place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle respectively.

The Cavaliers will return to the pool on January 13 when they travel to Bradford, Pa. for their lone AMCC dual meet against Penn State-Bradford.  The first event is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
