LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Cabrini golf team opened its Spring 2011 regular season schedule on Tuesday afternoon in a tri-match hosted by Division II Philadelphia University at The ACE Club. Behind sophomore Greg Verde's second-place individual performance, the Cavaliers listed second in the team standings.
Verde carded a 3-over par round of 75 in his Cabrini debuting, listing five shots behind the field's top performer, Drexel University's Ben Feld (-2).
Senior Mike Ryan aided the Cavaliers' effort, shooting a 5-over par round of 77 and finished tied for fourth. Junior Chris Sarvadi (+6) placed tied for sixth.
Freshman Patrick Rooney (+9) finished ninth and freshman Rob Bass (+20) ranked 14th for the Blue & White.
The Cavaliers (311) placed six shots overall behind Drexel (305). Philadelphia University (324) listed third in the team standings.
The Cabrini golf team returns to the course on Tuesday, March 29 against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Immaculata University at Whitford Country Club. Tee time against the Mighty Macs is set for 12:30 p.m.
