Rowan University Settles Women's Lacrosse

The Cabrini women's lacrosse team resumes its CSAC schedule at the College of Notre Dame on Saturday.

RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's lacrosse team surrendered seven of the game's first eight goals and trailed 15-3 at halftime en route to a 19-5 loss against New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent Rowan University on Tuesday afternoon at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Senior attack Jamie O'Hanlon led the Cavaliers with three points in the loss.

O'Hanlon, one day removed from totaling eight points against Immaculata University, led the Cabrini attack with three goals. Senior attack Gabrielle Gorbey and junior midfielder Katie Slonaker each netted one goal.

Gorbey finished with two points, also adding one assist. Senior midfielder Dolores Weathers dished two assists and senior defender Julie Bonomo tallied one helper.

O'Hanlon guided the Cavaliers off the whistle, winning two draw controls. Bonomo, sophomore defender Jenna DiNardo and freshman midfielder Beatrice McQuiston each scooped two groundballs.

Rowan (3-4) jumped out to a 4-0 advantage and led 7-1 at the 15:29 mark of the first half. The Profs closed the opening 30 minutes on an 8-0 run and owned a 15-3 advantage at the intermission.

O'Hanlon initiated the scoring in the second half with her second goal of the game before Rowan responded with four unanswered scores over the next 18 minutes.

O'Hanlon and Gorbey capped the Blue & White's offense with two goals in the final 5:58.

Senior midfielder Alli Dickey led the Rowan offense with six points on six goals. Junior midfielder Michelle Lubrano tallied five points, pairing three goals with two assists.

Rowan posted a 22-7 advantage in draw controls and out-shot the Cavaliers, 31-21.

Freshman goalkeeper Lindsay Barrie made six saves for the Profs in the win. Cabrini rookie cageminder Janel Folkomer played more than 51 minutes and tallied four stops.

Cabrini (1-5) returns to its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule at the College of Notre Dame on Saturday, April 2. Game time against the Gators is set for 1 p.m.
