RADNOR, Pa – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team overcame a five-goal deficit in the second half en route to a 15-14 victory versus Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Marywood University on Saturday afternoon at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Senior attack Jamie O'Hanlon netted seven goals in the come-from-behind win, including three straight late in the second half that pulled the Cavaliers even.
O'Hanlon finished with seven points on the seven goals, attempting only 11 shots. Over the last four games, she has totaled 29 points with 23 goals and six assists. O'Hanlon notched her 200th career point on April 7 against the University of Scranton.
Senior attack Gabrielle Gorbey posted four points, pairing two goals with two assists. Junior attack Jacky McDermott netted two scores, including the eventual game-winning tally at the 5:20 mark of the second half.
The Cavaliers trailed 9-8 at the intermission and stared at a 13-8 deficit with 26:31 remaining. The Pacers scored seven unanswered goals to close the first half and open the second.
However, freshman defender Ali May's free position goal at the 23:01 mark sparked the Cabrini rally and pulled the Blue & White within 13-9. Less than three minutes following, McDermott netted her first goal of the contest, cutting the Cavaliers' deficit to 13-10.
After junior attack Taylor McKeown supplied Marywood (8-3, 3-1 CSAC) with a 14-11 advantage with 14:02 remaining, O'Hanlon ran off three straight goals to the tie the game with 8:39 remaining. McDermott handed Cabrini a lead it would never relinquish at the 5:20 mark.
The Cavaliers killed the final five minutes with ball possession in their offensive end. Cabrini twice turned it over down the stretch, but did not pay for the damages.
Senior midfielder Dolores Weathers led the Blue & White in the hustle department, scooping a team-high six groundballs. Freshman goalkeeper Janel Folkomer turned away 12 shots for the win.
Freshman midfielder Kimberly Commisso notched five points with three goals and two assists for the Pacers in loss. McKeown netted four scores.
Freshman goalkeeper Megan Planz posted 14 saves.
Cabrini (3-7, 3-1 CSAC) continues its CSAC regular season schedule on Wednesday, April 13 at Rosemont College. Game time against the Ravens is set for 4 p.m.
