RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's lacrosse suffered a 19-3 defeat at the hands of Ursinus College today at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The loss evened the Cavaliers record at 1-1, while the Bears improved to 3-1.
Sophomore
Sarah Means opened the scoring in the game's second minute when she converted a pass from freshman
Lacie Doubet. The tally was Means' second of the young season. The Cavaliers celebration was short-lived as the Bears took over seconds later.
Ursinus' Alyssa Thren scored the first of her three consecutive goals just 19 seconds after Means' goal. Over the next seven minutes, the Bears ran off seven straight goals to take control of the game.
Freshman
Melissa Scanzano recorded her second goal of the season at the 14:11 mark of the first half.
By the halftime break, the Blue and White trailed 13-2.
Cabrini sophomore Suzanne Gennaro scored her first goal of the season in the game's second half.
Thren finished with seven goals and four assists for Ursinus.
The Cavaliers will return to Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday when they travel to Scranton, Pa. to face Marywood University.
