RANDOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's lacrosse team dropped to 2-3 on the year after tonight's 16-12 loss to Swarthmore College at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Sophomore

The Garnet grabbed an early lead, scoring the game's first goal just 49 seconds into play. Sophomore
Kellie Manoppello evened the game less than two minutes later with an unassisted goal. The teams exchanged goals over the next five minutes, including May's first tally of the game tying the score at two with 22:50 to play in the first half.
Swarthmore then ran off three goals in a two minute span to take a 5-2 lead. Freshman
Melissa Scanzano snapped the Garnet scoring streak with the first of her two scores on the day. Swarthmore responded with two more goals, leaving the Blue and White down 7-3 with 14:34 to play before the break.
The final 10 minutes of the half belonged the Blue and White, as the Cavaliers scored four consecutive goals tie the score at seven heading into halftime. Doubet, sophomore Brianna Thompson, May and sophomore
Sarah Means seized their scoring chances, giving Cabrini the momentum.
The Garnet quickly regained the momentum, scoring four goals in the first eight minutes of the second half. Freshman Sara Carzo put an end to the Swarthmore run with her third goals of the season. Eighty seconds later, Doubet posted her second goal of the day, cutting the deficit to 11-9 with 20:42 on the clock.
Two Swarthmore goals extend their lead back to 13-9 before Scanzano's fifth goal of the year cut Cabrini's deficit to three goals. Each time it looked as though the Cavaliers grabbed the momentum with a goal, the Garnet responded. Scanzano's tally was followed by a Garnet goal.
Minutes later May completed her hat trick, but Swarthmore added a goal one minute later. With 6:05 on the clock, Doubet closed the Cavaliers' scoring with her team-leading 12th goal.

Janel Folkomer recorded 14 saves for Cabrini.
Junior Annelise Penikis led Swarthmore (4-2) with four goals and two assists.
Cabrini will face another tough opponent on Saturday, as #3 The College of New Jersey pays a visit to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
