HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. –
The Cabrini College women's lacrosse team snapped its three game skid today with a 23-14 win at Centenary College.  The victory improves the Cavaliers to 4-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 4-7 overall.

Cabrini's 23 goals mark the Blue and White's highest scoring output since May 8, 2010 when the Cavaliers defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College 24-12 in final game of the CSAC Tournament.

Freshman Lacie Doubet led the Cavaliers' offense with eight points on four goals and four assists.  Sophomore Kellie Manoppello added a career-high five goals.  Five Cavaliers recorded at least four points in the win.

The rookie allowed the Cavaliers to play most of the game from ahead with a goal just 16 seconds into play.    The clubs exchanged goals for the first two minutes, including a goal by junior Christina Pasquariello, leaving the score tied at less than three minutes after the opening whistle.

The Cavaliers then ran off seven consecutive goals to take the game's momentum.  Senior Jacky McDermott opened the run, before Doubet tallied her second of the day.  Sophomore Brianna Thompson converted a pair of free position shots to extend the lead to 6-2.

Freshman Melissa Scanzano got into the action with her first of three goals on the day.  Back-to-back Manoppello goals gave the Blue and White a 9-2 lead with 12:20 to play before the half.

The Cyclones responded with a pair of goals before McDermott found the net again.  After another Centenary goal, Scanzano scored her second unassisted goal of the day.  Freshman Sara Carzo's goal with 21 seconds left in the half sent the Cavaliers into halftime with a 12-7 lead.

A Cyclone goal early in the second half cut Cabrini's lead to 12-8, but Centenary would get no closer.  Sophomore Ali May, Scanzano and Pasquariello extended the lead back to seven goals with just over 2 minutes to play.

Centenary rallied with a pair of goals before Carzo found McDermott to complete the senior's fourth career hat trick.  After a Centenary tally set the score at 16-11, Carzo and Manoppello again marked the score book, returning Cabrini's cushion to seven.

A three-pack of Cavalier goals from Doubet and a Manoppello pair pushed the advantage to 21-12 with 3:47 to play.  Doubet and Carzo closed Cabrini's scoring in the game's final 71 seconds.

In addition to her eight points, Doubet scooped nine ground balls and controlled eight draws.   Thompson secured six ground balls, while Carzo and Pasquariello grabbed five each.

Scanzano added five draw controls and caused three turnovers.  Sophomore goaltender Janel Folkomer posted 12 saves.

The loss was Centenary's first in the CSAC this season and the Cyclones' first loss this season on its home field.  Seniors
Danielle Bray and Meredith Bruce scored five goals each for the Cyclones (8-2, 4-1 CSAC).

The Cavaliers will step out of CSAC play next Thursday when they travel to Florham, N.J. to face FDU-The College at Florham.  The action is scheduled to get underway at 7:00 p.m.
