BRADFORD, Pa. – The Cabrini swim teams continued their impressive start to the 2013-14 season with today's meet at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford. The ladies downed the Panthers 99-81, while the men fell 103-71.
Freshman
Christina Melchiorre continued the hot start to her collegiate career with another pair of wins today. The rookie took both the 100 and 200 yard freestyles. Fellow freshman
Sarah Wagner won the 50 yard freestyle for her first collegiate victory, while rookie
Moira Prior finished second in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyles.
Seniors
Courtney Good and
Breaghann Smith each added a first and second place finish. Good took the 200 yard individual medley and placed second in the 100 yard back stroke, while Smith was triumphant in the 500 yard freestyle and placed second in the 1,000 yard freestyle.
Freshman
Meagan Kalinoski, freshman
Bella Badolato and senior
Elyse Phillips also added second place finishes in the 200 yard individual medley, 100 yard butterfly and 500 yards freestyle, respectively.
Sophomore
Chris Ryan led the Cabrini men with a pair of victories, claiming the 100 and 200 yard freestyles. Freshman
Hassan David Goines Jr. added a victory in the 50 yard freestyle, continue his winning ways to open his career.
Fellow rookie
Todd Walker earned his first collegiate win, taking the 100 yard back stroke, while freshman
Bobby Schmidt finished third in the event. Senior
Tim McCann also placed third in the 500 yard freestyle.
The Cavaliers will host Rowan University on Thursday evening for their home-opener. The first event is slated for 6:00 p.m.
