RADNOR, PA. – The Cabrini swim teams suffered a pair of dual meet defeats this evening at the Dixon Center Pool, as the Albright College Lions paid a visit to campus. The ladies fell 112-80, while the men stumbled 110-54.
Freshman
Christina Melchiorre added another victory to her rookie year, claiming the 100 yard freestyle in 56.25. The rookie also placed second in the 200 yard freestyle, reaching the wall in 2:05.87. In just her second meet, junior
Morgan Griffith won the 50 yard backstroke in 31.34 and placed third in the 50 yard freestyle in 26.98.
Senior
Breaghann Smith recorded a pair of second place finishes on the night, posting times of 12:01.43 in the 1,000 yard freestyle and 5:51.19 in the 500 yard freestyle. Freshman
Bella Badolato added a second place finish in the 50 yard butterfly in 36.01.
Senior
Elyse Phillips recorded a time of 12:44.95 in the 1,000 yard freestyle to finish third, while fellow senior
Courtney Good added a third place finish in the 100 yard individual medley, touching the wall in 1:09.44.
Freshman
Hassan David Goines Jr. led the Cabrini men with a victory in the 50 yard freestyle in 22.82 and finishing second in the 50 yard backstroke in 27.94.
Fellow rookie
Todd Walker recorded a trio of top three finishes on the night. Walker placed second in the 50 yard butterfly in 26.40 and third in both the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.97) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:29.73). Senior
Tim McCann added a third place finish in the 100 yard individual medley in 1:05.74.
The Blue and White will return to action this weekend, as it travels down the Blue Route to Swarthmore, Pa. for the Swarthmore College Invitational. The two day event opens Friday at 6:30 p.m. and continues on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
