EWING, N.J.  – After winning nine consecutive games, the Cabrini women's lacrosse team closed its regular season with a pair of losses. The Blue and White fell to 9-7 on the season with tonight's 19-5 loss at No. 9 The College of New Jersey.

The Lions wasted little time, building a 10-0 lead before the Cavaliers marked the scoring column.  Sophomore Melissa Scanzano found freshman Katie Lasater with 15:59 left in the first half for the Blue and White's first goal.

Senior Christina Pasquariello converted a free position shot for her 30th goal of the year and 50th point of the season.  Freshman Nathalie Basunga tallied the first of her two goals on the day with nine minutes left in the half.   After 30 minutes of play, the Cavaliers trailed 15-3.

Pasquariallo netted her second goal of the night 33 seconds into the second half, an unassisted tally.  Basunga closed the Cavaliers' scoring with her 35th goal of the year with 14:34 left on the clock.

After winning 19 draws at Widener on Tuesday, Basunga added 14 draw controls in tonight's loss.

By virtue of its 8-0 conference record, Cabrini secured the top seed in the upcoming CSAC postseason tournament and a bye into the semifinal round.  The Cavaliers semifinal game will be played on Wednesday at Edith Robb Dixon Field.  Game time and opponent have not yet been announced.
