SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Cabrini swim teams came out on the short side of today's dual meet at Swarthmore College. The men fell 106-79, while the women lost 119-100.
The duo of freshman
Hassan David Goines Jr. and junior
Evan Strickland paced the Cavaliers men on the afternoon. Goines crushed the program record in the 400 yard Individual Medley with a time of 4:39.37. The mark eclipsed his record by exactly four seconds. The rookie also placed third in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.38.
Strickland claimed victory in the 100 yard breaststroke, reaching the wall in 1:02.99. Strickland also won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.05 seconds. Freshman
Bobby Schmidt added a third place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, posting a time of 2:01.61.
On the women's side, junior
Morgan Griffith recorded a second place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 58.65 seconds. Senior
Breaghann Smith added a third place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, reaching the wall in 2:12.72.
The Cavaliers will return to action on February 1 when they visit Ocean County College for their final regular season meet of the season. The action is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in Toms River, N.J.
