ASTON, Pa. – It took a few minutes longer than normal, but in the end the Cabrini women's soccer team scored its eighth consecutive victory. The Cavaliers improved to 10-6 overall and 9-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with tonight's 2-1 overtime win at Neumann University.
Junior
Devon Miller scored her team leading eight goal of the season and third game winner in the 99th minute of action to secure the overtime victory.
After a scoreless first half, fellow junior
Dana Peterson put Cabrini on the board in the 51st minute, extending her personal scoring streak to five consecutive matches.
Despite outshooting Neumann 10-5 in the second half, the Cavaliers couldn't net a second goal in regulation. The Knights took advantage, as Tonia Russo tapped in a loose ball to even the score in 84th minute.
Peterson notched six of the Cavaliers' 19 shots on the night, while four players recorded three shots each.
Freshman
Alivia Dietsch tallied two saves to earn the victory.
Briana King posted seven saves for Neumann (5-8-1, 5-4-1 CSAC) in the loss.
Cabrini will hit the road on Saturday, as it visits Keystone College (5-7-3, 3-3-3 CSAC). Kickoff is scheduled for 12 Noon in La Plume, Pa.
