RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team sent its seniors off on a high note, as the Cavaliers downed the Cairn University Highlanders 3-1 tonight at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
With the win, the Blue and White closed the regular season 12-6 overall and 7-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Having already clinched a spot in the postseason tournament, the Cavaliers must now wait until this weekend to learn who and where they will face in the tournament.
Tonight's action marked the final regular season home appearance for the Cavaliers' five seniors,
Rey Jimenez,
George Lambritsios,
Christian Martin,
Sean Neary and
Shaun Ostrowski.
As a class, this group has won 43 matches, including leading the Cavaliers to 2012 Colonial States Athletic Conference championship and subsequent NCAA Tournament appearance. They have combined to score 80 points on 29 goals and 22 assists in their 296 games.
Cabrini fell behind in the early going tonight, as the Highlanders opened the scoring in the 11th minute with an unassisted tally.
Sophomore
Bobby Kane put the Blue and White on the board 11 minutes later, as he turned a pass from freshman
Quinn Ackerman into his sixth goal of the season. Cabrini outshot Cairn 7-2 in the opening 45 minutes, but the score remained 1-1 at the half.
The Cavaliers turned up their pressure in the second half, building a 9-1 advantage in shots. Cabrini broke the deadlock in the 69th minute, as sophomore

The Blue and White iced the victory in the 81st minute when Kane found Ackermann for the rookie's first collegiate goal.
Kane accounted for five of Cabrini's 16 shots on the night, while Martin and sophomores
A.J. Bishop and
Mohammed Konneh tallied two each.
Sophomore goaltender
C.J. Serratore posted two saves to earn his fifth win of the year.
