MOHNTON, Pa. – The Cabrini Golf team placed fifth out of 11 teams at today's Alvernia University Fall Invitational. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 330, 28 strokes behind team champion Moravian College.
Sophomore
Joe Myers led the Blue and White with a six over par, 78 to finish tied for ninth of 56 golfers on the 6,652 yard par 72 course. Freshman
Clay Anders and senior
Ted Nebiolo carded matching rounds of 83 to finish tied for 23rd.
Sophomore
Dan Gentilucci's round of 86 was good for 34th, while junior
Matt Vernot placed 53rd.
Moravian bested Messiah by two strokes to take the team title. Both teams also placed two golfers among the top four. Moravian's Kevin Kunkle took the individual crown with a round of 72, one stroke better than Messiah's Jordan Kirsch.
The Blue and White will return to the links on October 16, when it travels to Bent Creek Country Club for the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational. Tee time is slated for 12 p.m.
