SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Cabrini volleyball season came to an end tonight, as the Cavaliers fell to No. 4 Wittenberg University 3-0 in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The loss closes the Blue and White's season with an overall record of 26-7, second most wins in program history.
The loss also ends one of the best seasons in program history. The Cavaliers recorded a program record 18 match win streak, during which it dropped only three sets.
The Blue and White also captured its fifth CSAC championship in the last six years and second in a row, after posting its second consecutive perfect 11-0 conference record.
Tonight's loss also closes the careers of Cabrini's two seniors,
Amy Guarino and
Dana Wisniewski. Among the most successful classes in program history, the duo led the Cavaliers to 97 victories, including a 32-1 mark in conference play and three CSAC championships.
The ladies combined for 451 kills, 225 assists, 51 service aces, 354 digs and 92 total blocks during their careers.
The Blue and White couldn't really get its offense on track against the high powered Tigers, falling 25-14, 25-11, 25-14.
Guarino led the Cavaliers with eight kills to go with her eight digs. Junior
Jen Grenauer added six kills.

Cassidy Koenig paired 17 assists and eight digs, while sophomore
Kelly Guarino recorded 17 digs.
Kara Seidenstricker led Wittenberg (28-3) with 12 kills, while Meghan Vodopich paired 21 assists and 10 digs.
Wittenberg advances to Friday's regional semifinal round, where it will face No. 12 Mt. Union (29-5), who defeated Washington and Lee 3-0. Tomorrow's other semifinal pits
No. 2 Hope (29-2) against No. 10 Juniata (28-7), both of whom scored 3-0 first round victories.
Friday's winners will advance to Saturday's regional championship, with the winner advancing to next weekend's national quarterfinal in Newport News, Va.
