RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team won its second consecutive game and opened its CSAC schedule with a resounding 16-2 win over Notre Dame of Maryland University today at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The win evened the club's record at 2-2 and marked its 15th consecutive regular season conference victory.
Eight Cavaliers marked the score sheet, led by junior
Lacie Doubet and freshman
Sasha Wozniak. Doubet matched a career high with eight points on five goals and three assists, surpassing the 150 career point plateau. Wozniak paired three goals and four assists on the day.
Junior
Melissa Scanzano added two goals and an assist, while freshman
Allie Vallen netted a pair of goals. Sophomores
Kristina Quintiliani and
Caitlyn Poole and junior
Taylor Carroll found the back of the net for the first time this season, while senior
Bree Thompson tallied her fourth of the season.
Doubet and senior
Erin McLaughlin led the Blue and White with five ground balls each, while Wozniak scooped four. Junior
Tori Canelli caused three of Cabrini's 13 forced turnovers, one more than McLaughlin.
Senior goaltender
Janel Folkomer recorded three saves to record the victory. Freshman
Megan Barlow added a save in her first extended action of the season.
Cabrini took control of the game in the early minutes, scoring 13 goals in the game's first 13 minutes.
Sophomore Sawyer Butto and junior Brittany Peddicord tallied goals for the Gators (0-3, 0-1 CSAC).
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday when they visit Marywood University. The CSAC contest is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
