Women's Lacrosse Completes Perfect CSAC Season

Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse closed its 11th perfect conference schedule with today's 18-2 win over Rosemont College at Edith Robb Dixon Field.  With the win, the Blue and White posts an 8-0 record in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 11-4 overall.  The victory also clinches the top seed and home field advantage in next week's CSAC Tournament.

Junior Lacie Doubet led the Cavaliers with five first half goals, giving her 203 points for her career.  Doubet becomes just the sixth member of Cabrini's women's lacrosse 200 point club, accomplishing the feat in 53 career games.

Fellow junior Melissa Scanzano added five points in the win on three goals and two assists and forced four Rosemont turnovers.  Senior Sarah Means, sophomore Caitlyn Poole and freshman Jessica Breuning recorded two goals each.  Sophomore Maura O'Connell also tallied her first career goal.

Senior Erin McLaughlin and sophomore Megan Decker recorded career highs with seven ground balls on the day.  Scanzano, Doubet, O'Connell and senior Bree Thompson also secured two draws each.

Senior Janel Folkomer and freshman Megan Barlow combined for two saves to earn the victory between the pipes.

Scanzano opened the scoring just under four minutes into the game but the Ravens evened the score one minute later, converting a free position shot.  Just over a minute later, the Cavaliers began to put the game out of reach.  Over the next 12:10, the Blue and White scored 12 unanswered goals to take a commanding 13-1 lead with 11:43 left in the first half.

Jennifer South recorded both goals for the Ravens (5-9, 2-5 CSAC) and fired five of the club's seven shots.

The Cavaliers will face a tough test on Thursday as it hosts No. 4 The College of New Jersey (12-1, 4-0 NJAC) for Senior Night.  The game will mark the final regular season home game for seniors Folkomer, Suz Gennaro, Samantha LaMaina, Ali May, McLaughlin, and Beatrice McQuiston.  Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
