Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse season came to an end today, as the Cavaliers fell to No. 6 Gettysburg 19-6 in the second round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The Blue and White close the season with a 14-6 overall record.
The loss also closes the careers of Cabrini's six seniors,
Janel Folkomer,
Suz Gennaro,
Samantha LaMaina,
Ali May,
Erin McLaughlin and
Beatrice McQuiston. As a group, they led Cabrini to 42 career victories, including a 29-3 mark in CSAC play, three consecutive CSAC championships and the program's second ever NCAA Tournament win. They appeared in 353 games, scoring 31 goals and 12 assists and accounting for 441 ground balls, 218 caused turnovers, 96 draw controls and 575 saves.

Melissa Scanzano and freshman
Sasha Wozniak led the Blue and White with two goals each, while junior
Lacie Doubet and freshman
Jessica Breuning added one goal each. Senior
Bree Thompson earned team high honors with three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while Wozniak won 10 draw controls.
Statistically, Cabrini played even with Gettysburg, attempting 25 shots to the Bullets' 28 and scooping one less ground ball, but Gettysburg was +8 in draw controls (18-10) and made the most of their opportunities.
Gettysburg jumped out to an early lead, netting the game's first five goals. Scanzano broke the Bullets' streak with an unassisted tally at the 16:41 mark. Five minutes later, the junior recorded her second score of the day and 64th of the season, as the Blue and White trailed 7-2.
The Bullets tallied another five unanswered goals before Wozniak found the goal with just under two minutes left in the opening half. Doubet closed the half with her 63rd goal of the season with 31 seconds left in the half, as the Cavaliers trailed 13-4.
Gettysburg removed any lingering doubt about the outcome with four goals in a span of 4:11 early in the second half, extending its lead to 18-4 with 20:46 to play. Wozniak netted her 52nd goal of the campaign at the 12:33 mark, while Breuning closed the scoring with her 21st goal of the season with 6:44 to play.
